Abstract
PURPOSE:To enable the measurement with high accuracy with a simple constitution, by providing a light shielding plate which receives light with sent amount at all times through light shielding of photodetector and light receiving plane moving with the liquid surface up and down, the measuring the amount of movement of light shielding plate. CONSTITUTION:A light emitter 4 projected on the liquid surface of a molten glass 3 and a photodetector device 5 receiving the reflected light are provided. The device 5 is moved up and down via a given automatic balancing circuit of DC potential difference type in response to the height of the liquid surface. A light shielding plate 6 is fitted in front of the device 5, which is provided movably front and back via a given automatic balancing circuit so that a given area indicated with hatched lines of the light receiving surface 5' can always be shielded. With this constitution, the device 5 is up and down with the liquid surface, and the plate 6 moves front and back so that light reception with set amount can always be made. The liquid level can be measured with the distance of movement of this plate 6. Thus, with a simple constitution, the measurement with good accuracy can be made without corrosion and wear.
