Abstract

PURPOSE:To measure the height and position of fluid stored in a tank easily and at high precision, by providing a television camera and a slit light source, and finding the position in the tank of an arbitrary point of the measured picture image and radiation angle of the slit form light. CONSTITUTION:A pair of light sources 5a, 5b are provided at both ends of a crane 3 used to handle the deposits 2 in the tank 1 of crane pit, and a television camera 6 is attached in the middle between them. The light sources 5a, 5b are slit light sources, and the slit form lights radiated on the surface of fluid 2 are received by the television camera 6. The position in the tank corresponding to an arbitrary position in the obtained stripe-patterned picture image is counted by the horizontal scanning line and measured by the position of the television camera with respect to the position in the vertical direction of the picture image, and is measured by the signal level of the horizontal scanning line with respect to the position in the horizontal direction of the picture image. From the position in the tank 1 of the arbitrary point of the picture image thus measured and the radiation angle of the slit form lights, the height and position of the fluid 2 are measured.
