Abstract
PURPOSE: To make easier the cleaning of oil storage tank as well as recover oil from oil storage tank effectively for reuse by the procedure in which a heating fluid is circulated in an oil storage tank to float oil by heaing for recovery.
CONSTITUTION: A fluid, e.g., the sea water which is of good separability from oil, etc., is injected to a desired level of the bottom portion of the tank 1, and then the injected sea water is heated by the base heater 2 properly by measuring the temperature by a thermometer provided in the tank 1. Then, oil layer and sludge layer are heated by the heated sea water as a heat medium and fluidized while circulating the heated sea water through the temporarily provided pipe 6 by the pump 7 so as to accelerate the heating of the sludge layer, and when the desired temperature, e.g., 70°C, is reached, the pump 7 is stopped, oil-water separation is made by utilizing a difference in specific gravity between water and oil in the static state, and sampling is made by the gauge bar 3 or from the other opening to ascertain the result of oil-water separation.
