Abstract

PURPOSE:To increase the permeability for the head obtained as well as eliminate the aging by using the amorphous alloy featuring the specific composition containing Fe, Co, Cr, B and the like along with the high saturation magnetic flux density and the low magnetic distortion to the magnetic path after elimination of the distortion through the thermal treatment. CONSTITUTION:The thermal treatment is applied to the amorphous alloy featuring the composition shwon by Eq. I (where X means C, Si, P, Ni, etc., x equals to 0.03-0.13, z is 0.70-0.85, w is 0.015-0.035, and y+z+w<=1 respectively) along with the saturation magnetic flux density of 5kG or more plus the magnetic distortion of -5X10<-6>-5X10<-6> and in the time range within which no crystallization occurs within the temperature range from the crystallization temperature to the level lower by 150 deg.C than the crystallization temperatue. In that case, the normal thermal treatment is given when the thermal treatment temperature is higher than the Curie temperature of the alloy; while the thermal treatment in the magnetic field is given in case the treatment temperature is lower than the Curie temperature respectively. Thus the magnetic distortion can be eliminated. The part or whole of the magnetic part is formed with the material with its distortion eliminated, and thus the magnetic head is obtained for application at the video band of frequency 200kHz or higher.
