Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a temperature sensitive amorphous magnetic alloy whose saturation magnetization and permeability suddenly change at around the Curie point by adding a specified element to a Fe-Cr, Co-Cr or Fe-Co-Cr alloy.
CONSTITUTION: The magnetic alloy is represented by formula (T1-aCra)100-zXz (where T is Fe and/or Co, X is at least one of P, B, C and Si as amorphous elements, a is 0.05W0.20 and z is 15W30). 50atom% or less of the Fe or Co of this alloy can be replaced with Ni, and the amorphous element X is B or is composed of B and 25atom% or less of Si. Since 15W30% of the amorphous elements such as B and Si is added, the alloy is easily made amorphous in manufacture, and it has superior magnetic characteristics and thermal stability. The permeability and magnetic flux density of the alloy considerably change at around the Curie point, and the alloy exhibits such temp. sensitibity that gives a rapid sure response even after repeated use.
