Abstract

CONSTITUTION: A part of exhaust is delivered to the suction air duct 1 with the exhaust pressure vent tube 9. The pulse output having the frequency corresponding to the number of vortex is obtained with the ultrasonic wave generator 4 and receiver 5 for the vortex produced. If the engine is at low speed and high load operation, air flow is pulsive, the number of vortex greater than the actual suctioned air amount is detected and error is caused. Air flow is disturbed by delivering a part of exhaust pressure to the suction tube to control the production of vortex and to enable to make proportional the detected frequency to the amount of air. With the construction above, the suctioned air amount measuring unit for automobiles can be obtained without wear parts and rich in durability.
