Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible fuel injection controlling which is unaffected by the pulsation of suction air amount by sampling the output voltage of the hot-wire type flowmeter and deriving fuel pulses from the mean suction air amount added and averaged at every period for one revolution of the engine.
CONSTITUTION: The output voltage of the hot-wire type flowmeter 1 which measures the instantaneous velocity of flow of the suction air to the engine is sampled at every periodic pulse of a timing pulse generator 6 by an A/D converter 2 and is digitally converted. It is then input to a computer 7 which in turn calculates suction air amount Qin. The period τ for one revolution of the engine is detected by a revolution sensor 4 and the added value QAD and addition times NAD of the suction air amount Qin over the period τ are counted by the computer 7 and the mean suction air Q'=QAD/NAD is computed. The mean suction air amount Q' is divided by the number of revolutions N of the engine to obtain the pulse width TP of the fuel injection pulses, i.e., basic pulses and if a fuel injection solenoid valve 9 is controlled by this, the stable fuel injection controlling may be accomplished even if the output of the hot-wire type flowmeter pulsates.
