Abstract
PURPOSE: To increase the measuring accuracy and to make small the unit in size, by restricting the pulsive delivery of suctioned air.
CONSTITUTION: At the upper stream of the throttle valve 5 in the suction air guide tube 1, the vortex production pole 2 is orthogonally placed to the direction of flow a of suctioned air, and at the lower stream, the oscillator 3 for ultrasonic oscillator 3a and the receiver 4 of the processing circuit 4a are provided, and at the lower stream, the connection hole 6 is placed to commonly connect the air chamber 7 and the variable volume chamber 10. Thus, the air suctioned with the suctioned air guide tube 1 is suctioned to the internal combustion engine via the throttle valve 5 while producing Karman vortex having the number corresponding to the flow of the rear part of the eddy production pole 2, and the ultrasonic wave from the oscillator 3 is emitted to the Karman vortex b and received with the receiver 4. It is converted into a voltage corresponding to the suctioned air flow at the processing circuit 4a, and the negative pressure surge produced from the internal combustion engine is disappeared at the air chamber 7 and the variable volume chamber 10, to restrict the pulsation of air flow speed at the eddy producing pole 2, allowing to perform accurate measurement even with low speed and full open running.
