Abstract
PURPOSE: To easily product ingot of uniform and fine metal structure, by pouring molten metal into mold, and casting while applying circular vibrations in the horizontal direction to the mold.
CONSTITUTION: A mold 5 is set between holding pieces 6, 7, and a projecting piece 9 is projected by a hydraulic cylinder 8 to hold the mold 5 firmly. Starting to pour into the mold 5, a motor 10 is driven at the same time to rotate an eccentric weight 12 in horizontal direction. While vibrating a table 4 through supporting arm 11 in circular motion in horizontal direction by this horizontal rotation, pouring is continued. After the completion of pouring, when the molten metal top surface becomes a solidified ingot 13 as shown by dot-dash line, the circuit for the motor 10 is opened, and casting process is finished.
