Abstract

1,092,627. Casting-machines. SUMITOMO METAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Nov. 23, 1964 [Nov. 30, 1963], No. 47603/64. Heading B3F. A filled ingot mould is rotated about its vertical axis and then rotated bodily about a vertical axis so that it assumes an inclined position with the upper end of the mould toward the axis. The metal may be poured into the mould while it is rotated about its vertical axis by an electric motor 8. The rotation of the mould about its own axis may be continued during solidification by an electric motor mounted on the mould support.
