Abstract
PURPOSE: To reduce the contact frequencies of a separating pawl and prolong the life of photosensitive drum by providing the separating pawl reciprocably in the width direction of the photosensitive drum and reciprocating the separating pawl by the signal relating to the movement of the drum.
CONSTITUTION: Except when transfer paper is fed, an operating shaft 20 is turned in the arrow (a)direction by the force of an energizing spring 23a and a separating pawl 5 is separated from a photosensitive drum 2 by a rod 22. When transfer paper A is fed to the drum position, an electromagnetic solenoid 24 and motor 15 are energized, by which the rod 22 is retreated from the separating pawl 5. The end 5a of the separating pawl 5 is then contacted to the surface of the photosensitive drum 2 by the force of a spring 6. Since the support bar 14 is reciprocated by the end face cam 16 rotated by a motor 15, the contact position of the separating pawl is being changed constantly and therefore the contact frequencies with the photosensitive drum is reduced, and the life of the drum may be prolonged.
