Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a printer which has an electromagnetic means for driving a selector, capable of opration with less power consumption and which is small, light and inexpensive by keeping the slector at an arbitrary position by means of a guide face provided at the side of the type wheel.

CONSTITUTION: When the groove 2 corresponding to the type desired to print itself comes the position opposite to the type wheel spring 5, the coil 17 is energized. The magnetic circuit that consists of the iron core 10, yoke 12 and disc 9 is closed to attract both sides of the disc 9 and the head 102 of iron core 10, the core 10 is pushed down in the direction of the arrow g, the selecting click 7 is turned in the direction of the arrow f to move itself to the position at which it is not in contact with the head 501 of the type wheel spring 5. since the spring 5 is not off from the groove 2 of the type wheel axis 1 by the click 7, the axis 1 and type wheel 4 are rotated in a body to turn the type 3 to the printing position 15. When all types 3 to be printed are lined up on the printing location, they are printed onto the printing paper 16 by the hammer 14.
