Abstract

PURPOSE: To secure stable movement with continuously maintained contact force between a cam and a cam follower by installing a load compensator so as to offset fluctuation of contact force between the cam and the cam follower.
CONSTITUTION: A load compensator 17 comprising a plunger type electromagnet is installed at the rear end of a reciprocating rod 14. A solenoid 15 and a plunger 16 are directly connected to the rear end of the reciprocating rod 14. Current I flowing through the solenoid 15 is supplied under a predetermined wave form 18 at a cycle equivalent to one rotation of a main shaft 7 of a lathe. The wave form 18 of the current I is so arranged to offset the fluctuation of contact force between a cam and a cam follower which has been induced from the fluctuation, etc. of inertial force which follows the movement of the follower or load to be applied to the actuating point.
