Abstract

PURPOSE: To simplify the construction of a paper-feeding mechanism and prolong the useful life thereof by a method wherein an electromagnet having a hysteresis characteristic and another one devoid of hysteresis characteristics are placed oppositely to a vibrating body and at an angle of 90° against each other, and paper is intermittently fed by the vibration of the vibrating body which is effected through exciting the electromagnets.
CONSTITUTION: The electromagnet 21 having the hysteresis characteristic and the electromagnetic 22 devoid of hysteresis characteristics are placed oppositely to the vibrating body 23 capable of vibrating around a shaft 28, 28' of elastic material, with the iron cores 24, 26 of the electromagnets being at an angle of 90° against each other. When each of the coils 25, 27 on the iron cores 24, 26 is suplied with AC current, the vibrating body 23 is reciprocated in x-direction in accordance with the power-source frequency and is vibrated in y-direction with a phase shifted from that of x-direction due to the hysteresis characteristic, so that the resultant motion is a pseudo-elliptic cycle. Accordingly, when two such driving mechanisms are combined with each other and the vibrating bodies are connected to a curved plate (not shown), a mechanism devoid of rotating parts can be obtained.
