Abstract
PURPOSE:To raise the hardness and durability of friction surface as well as improve the magnetic characteristics by forming an anti-abrasive hardened layer containing nickel and phosphorus as the main components on the friction layers of rotor and armature through the hot dispersion process. CONSTITUTION:Among friction surfaces 3a, 12a of rotor 3 and armature 12, the friction surface 3a is provided with an anti-abrasive hardened layer 3a' containing nickel and phosphorus as the main components. This process is such that the rotor 3 is electrolytically plated in the plating liquid bath which contains nickel salt, organic salt and phosphorous salt in a decided proportion. And the rotor provided with a plated layer is heated in a furnace to disperse iron in the plated layer. This forms an anti-abrasive hardened layer 3a' and then it is cooled gradually in the atmospheric air.
