Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve fuel-atomizing performance, by installing in an intake pipe of an engine an axially slidable hollow cylindrical throttle structure and also a fixed valve inserted into the throttle structure and having a tapered projection formed on the top thereof.
CONSTITUTION: An intake pipe 3 connected to an intake manifold 4 is composed of a top housing 31 and a bottom housing 32. In this intake pipe 3, a hollow cylindrical throttle structure 10 which is linked with an accelerator pedal 49 slides tightly in contact with a pipe wall 35. A tapered slop 18 is formed on the top of this structure 10. Further, inside of this structure 10 is provided with a fixed valve 10, into which a part of an outer circumferential section 11c is inserted. A top section lla of the valve 10 is formed flat and, at the same time, a tapered projection 11b is formed on an extended line of the flat surface. The fuel injected by a fuel injection valve 5 comes into the space between the slope 18 and the projection 11b, after metering.
