Abstract
PURPOSE: To prevent sticking of fuel to the wall surface of intake pipe and to promote atomization of mixture, by providing an axially slidable throttle assembly in the form of a hollow cylinder and a fixed valve means having a smooth outer surface in the intake pipe of an engine.
CONSTITUTION: Intake pipe 3 communicated to intake manifold 4 is composed of upper and lower housings 31, 32. In the intake pipe 3, there is provided a throttle assembly 10 in the form of a hollow cylinder such that it is slidable along wall surfaces 35 of pipe 3 in close contact with the same. At an upper portion of the throttle assembly 10, there is formed a tapered surface 18. Further, there is provided a fixed valve means 11 which is located at the bottom of tapered surface 18 when throttle assembly 10 is at its top dead point. Outer peripheral portion of the valve means 11 is formed of a smooth curved surface 11a, and fuel guide wall 11c is formed on the downstream side of the curved surface 11a. Fuel is supplied from fuel injection valve 5 disposed upwardly of the valve means 11.
