  • Control Of Throttle Valves Provided In The Intake System Or In The Exhaust System (AREA)

Abstract

PURPOSE: To promote atomization of fuel, by providing an axially slidable throttle assembly in the form of a hollow cylinder in the intake pipe of an engine and disposing a bellows means in the throttle assembly for compensating variation of negative pressure in the intake pipe.
CONSTITUTION: Intake pipe 3 communicated to intake manifold 4 is composed of upper and lower housings 31, 32. In the intake pipe 3, there is provided a throttle assembly 10 such that it is slidable along wall surface 39 of pipe 3 in close contact with the same, and it is connected to accelerator pedal 49 by means of linkage. A bellows 50 is extended between the top of tapered surface 18 formed at an upper portion of said throttle assembly 10 and partition wall 59 located upwardly of the tapered surface 18. By the bellows 50, there is defined a vacuum chamber 36 into which partial vacuum in the intake pipe is introduced via pipe 56 for compensating operation of throttle assembly 10. Upwardly of the throttle assembly 10, there is further provided a fixed valve 11, and upwardly of the fixed valve 11, there is disposed a fuel injection valve 5.
