Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve fuel-mixing performance and to improve distribution of the fuel to cylinders, by installing in an intake pipe of an engine an axially slidable hollow cylindrical throttle structure and a fixed valve, having a chevron-like outer configuration to oppose to each other.
CONSTITUTION: An intake pipe 3 connected to an intake mainfold 4 is composed of a top housing 31 and a bottom housing 32. In this intake pipe 3, a hollow cylindrical throttle structure 10 which is linked with an accelerator pedal 49 slides in close contact with the pipe's inner wall 35. A tapered slop 18 is formed on the top of the structure 10. At the time when the structure 10 is on the top dead point, a fixed valve which is set on the bottom of the slope 18 is arranged and, at the same time, this valve 11 is formed in a chevron shape which becomes lower symmetrically from the center toward the circumferential portion. Now, fuel is jetted from top of the chevron-shaped valve 11 by a fuel injection valve 5.
