Abstract

PURPOSE:To diminish the variation of falling time due to fluctuation of capacitance of transfer electrode, making use of pulses having two or more falling time constants within the falling period of the transfer pulse. CONSTITUTION:Pulses of wave forms A and B are delivered to terminals 54, 55 of the driving circuit. An output terminal 56 is connected to a transfer electrode and is adapted to produce a pulse of waveform C at both sides of capacitance Cphi 57 thereof. At a moment to, the transfer electrode 56 takes a low level. As the time elapses, an FET 51 is turned on while FETs 52, 53 are turned off to permit the capacitance Cphi 57 to be charged so that the electrode 56 takes high level in the period between moments to and t1. In the period between moments t1 and t2, FET 51 and FET 52 are turned off and on, respectively, so that a discharge is made to produce a voltage drop at a time constant C1 provided by a resistance RON1. In the period between moments t2 and t3, FET 53 is turned on and the resistance RON2 is connected in parallel and the low level is resumed at another time constant C2. As a result, a steep discharge characteristic is obtained in the period between the moments t3 and to so that the variation of falling time for a given fluctuation of the capacitance Cphi 57 is diminished.
