Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide compost highly valuable as fertilizer by a method wherein solid component of faces and urine sewage is adsorbed by a gel formed from synthetic wollastnite powder and conc. sulfuric acid and recovered product is naturally fermented.
CONSTITUTION: Synthetic wollastnite powder and conc. sulfuric acid is added to sewage water containing faces and urine to cause gel formed by reaction to adsorb the solid component of sewage, and product is coagulated by mixing to form grains. The coagulated grains is dehydrated by a dehydrator to a degree of proper water content then subject to natural fermentation. In the process of fermentation, fulvic acid and fumic acid are formed as by-products, which enhances the fertilizing effect of formed compost.
