Abstract

PURPOSE: To eliminate the waste of antifrothing time, and to accurately measure concentration, by sending ultrasonic waves into suspension, and by comparing and judging the transmission signals and reflection signals by bubbles.
CONSTITUTION: A transmitter-and-receiver 13 of an ultrasonic-wave densitometer 11 with an antifrothing device intermittently sends out ultrasonic waves by the signals of a transmitter 14, and reflected waves by bubbles are received by means of the tramsmitter-and-receiver 13 and penetrated waves by means of a receiver 15. These receivers 13, 15 are each connected to signal amplifiers 16, 17 working by the signals of a change-over circuit 18, and concentration signals from these amplifiers are input to hold circuits 19, 20 and further forwarded to a decision circuit 21. The circuit 21 compares the both signals of the circuits 19, 20, evaluates the effect of bubbles and emits antifrothing command signals to the densitometer 11. Concentration can accurately be measured because the concentration signals are appropriately corrected by compensating the hold value of the circuit 20 by reflected waves by means of a correction circuit 22.
