Abstract

PURPOSE: The leaves of Stevia treated specifically is combined with ground tea to give title beverage with good taste, sweentness, tint, and high solubility, thus permitting the amount of ground tea to reduce.
CONSTITUTION: The green leaves of Stevia is heat treated, preferably by heating with a gas containing 1.0kg or more steam per 1kg air and dried 3W5% water content. The dried leaves are crashed into a powder of 100W1500 mesh. The resulting powder loses the grassy small but keeps the green. Ground green tea is mixed with 40W90wt% of the resulting powder of Stevia and the mixture may be combined further with other sweeteners and granulation agent.
