Abstract
PURPOSE:To prevent the expansion and storage deterioration of cell by heating and then cooling a positive pole mixture composed of gamma-beta type beta type manganese dioxide, a conductor, and a binder under a reduced pressure or in the atmosphere of an inert gas. CONSTITUTION:A positive pole mixture for nonaqueous electrolyte cell is prepared by mixing manganese dioxide converted into gamma-beta type or beta type by a heat treatment with a conductor, e.g., acetylene black, etc., and a binder, e.g., polytetrafluorofluoroethylene, etc., and then the positive pole mixture so obtained dried by heating under a reduced pressure or in the atmosphere of an inert gas and then cooled naturally under the sam reduced pressure or in the same atmosphere. The preferred temperature for drying is 150-320 deg.C and also the preferred temperature for natural cooling is 50 deg.C, after which the mixture is taken out in the air preferably.
