Abstract
PURPOSE: To raise the efficiency of regeneration by completely separating both resins by the regenerating method in which a non-ion exchange resin having a specific gravity and an effective diameter between both cation and anion exchange resins to be regenerated.
CONSTITUTION: Mixed resins used in the manufacture of pure water in an ion exchange tower is introduced into the regenerating tower 1 to which is supplied a non-ion exchange resin having a specific gravity and an effective diameter between both ion exchange resins to be treated at the same time. When supplying water into the tower 1 from the lower part of the tower, an anion resin layer A, a non-ion resin layer N, and a cation resin layer C are formed in order from above, and at the same time the mixed layers M are formed between these resin layers. Then, an N-caustic soda solution is supplied from above and then a N-hydrochloric acid solution is supplied from below for regeneration, and lastly sufficient amounts of water is supplied to the tower 1 for washing. The non-ion exchange resin and the mixed resin layers M are drawn out of the draw pipe 6. Thus, the cation and anion exchange resins can be completely separated from each other with better regeneration efficiency.
