Abstract

PURPOSE: To form the molding suited for magnetic head core material without grinding by sucking molten metal of Fe/Al/Si base alloy into the tubular body composed of high melting point material of a desired shape.
CONSTITUTION: Molten metal 3 of Fe/Al/Si base alloy prepared by a vacuum melting method or the like is contained in an aluminum crucible 1 which is heat-retained with a heating coil 2 and a tubular body composed of high melting point material of a desired shape such as quartz tube 4 or the like is inserted therein, thence the molten metal is sucked up by a vacuum pump. Since this method lets a circular cylindrical block 5 of a desired shape to be directly formed, it enables the magnetic head core material of high yield to be obtained.
