Abstract

PURPOSE: To provide a control system for internal combustion engine, which is capable of preventing temporary increase of heat producing rate and ignition lag by controlling time characteristics of fuel supply through consideration of types of fuel, temperature, engine load and revolutional speed of engine.
CONSTITUTION: Fuel pressurized by fuel pump 10 is supplied to fuel injection valves 20AW20D provided in respective cylinders of engine. On the other hand, micro-computor 2 is furnished with input information of pressure of fuel injection, revolutional speed of engine and crank angle and slelected load value given from operator. From this information, preset injection pressure is calculated to satisfy the above selected load value, and the injection pressure is changed by changing the injection pressure signal given to variable pressure regulator 11, so as to operate said injection valve 20AW20D at proper injection timing and with proper injection quantity.
