Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain most appropriate injection starting timing by controlling an electromagnetic valve to adjust fuel pressure in injection starting timing adjusting mechanism of a fuel injection pump with a built-in regulator valve by a control factor of an internal combustion engine and an output from a needle valve lift sensor of a fuel injection nozzle.
CONSTITUTION: An electromagnetic valve 9, which is driven by a control driving signal S1 from a control circuit 8 to adjust fuel pressure, that is working pressure mechanism, is provided on a fuel injection pump 3 with a built-in regulating valve (not indicated in the figure) which is to adjust supplied fuel pressure in accordance with the number of rotation of an engine. Outputs from an engine temperature sensor 10, a rotating speed detector 2b, an upper dead point position detector 12, a negative load detector 13, and a lift sensor 14 for needle valve ligting detection of a fuel injection nozzle 7 are input to the control circuit 8.
