Abstract

1447791 Regulating I C engine fuel injection and ignition ROBERT BOSCH GmbH 16 Oct 1973 [17 Oct 1972] 48106/73 Heading F1B [Also in Division G3] An internal combustion engine, having an electrically controlled petrol injection system and a device for actuating a control valve by-passing the throttle valve during over-run and a timing device actuable with the control valve for retarding the ignition by between 15 degrees to 25 degrees A.T.D.C. As shown, a by-pass valve 50 is controlled by a device 60 and the ignition initially retarded by 10-20 degrees by rotating a timing plate 51 by a device 62. The devices 60, 62 are electromagnetically actuated directly, or through a pressure servo responsive to inlet manifold depression. The devices 60, 62 are controlled by an electrical control system responsive to engine parameters, such as temperature and pressure and/or a signal from a switch actuated by a gear selector.
