Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain the title steel having a tensile strength of 50kg/cm2 or more by subjecting steel contg. specified components such as C, Si, Mn, sol. Al and Nb to hot rolling including heating, rolling finish and coiling under specified temp. conditions.
CONSTITUTION: This invention is characterized by manufacture of a low C-high Nb-low N high tensile steel contg. C 0.001W0.08%, Si≤1%, Mn 0.1W2.5%, sol. Al 0.01W0.25%, N≤0.005% and Nb 0.04%Wlower percentage of 7.74×(C%+ 18/14N%) and 0.0065÷(C%+12/14N%). The above compsn. in hot rolled under the following conditions: a heating temp. of 1100W1300°C, a rolling finish temp. of 700°C or above and a coiling temp. of 650°C or below. The resulting low alloy, high tensile steel is suitable for use as a hot rolled steel strip for a car, etc.
