Abstract

PURPOSE:To produce the titled steel sheet by a simplified process by a method wherein a slab of a ferritic stainless steel containing solAl is hot rolled to be a strip, thereafter the strip is cold rolled by a single pass at a reduction ratio of not less than 85% without conducting a hot-rolled strip annealing operation, and the resultant cold-rolled sheet is annealed. CONSTITUTION:The slab of a ferritic stainless steel containing 0.08-0.5% of solAl is hot rolled by an ordinary method to obtain the steel strip, and the strip is cold rolled to the final thickness by a single pass at specified reduction ratio of not less than 85% without conducting the hot-rolled strip annealing operation which has been indispensable to the prior art. Then, the resultant cold-rolled steel sheet is subjected to annealing, namely, recrystallization annealing to obtain the objective ferritic stainless steel sheet having excellent workability.
