Abstract

PURPOSE: To stabilize the clarification of waste water with the miminum quantities of ozone and hydrogen peroxide by controlling the amount of hydrogen peroxide to add properly in the ozone-treatment of waste water.
CONSTITUTION: Hydrogen peroxide is injected into waste water at a controlled flow rate by the hydrogen peroxide injection pump 8 and the waste water is directed to the reaction tank 1 through the conduit 5, where it is brought into contact with a countercurrent flow of ozone-containing fine bubbles ascending through the perforated plate 2 and discharged as treated water from the outlet 6. The bubbles with a lowered ozone concentration are flowed into the ozone meter 7 through the excess ozone discharge pipe 4 from the upper part of the reaction tank 1, and according to the ozone concentration measured, the amount of hydrogen peroxide to add from the injection pump 8 is controlled. Thus, the amount of hydrogen peroxide to add can be properly controlled and the effective use of the chemical can be attained, reducing the cost of treatment.
