Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a separator for lead battery having high efficiency at a low cost by preventing isolation of chlorine by allowing oil to be contained in a separator formed of chlorine containing polymer. CONSTITUTION:In a separator formed of chlorine containing polymer such as vinyl chloride resin, oil is impregnated. Surface active agent may be added into the separator. Chlorine containing polymer is solved in a solvent with oil, and the solution is formed into sheet membrane, and after solvent is removed, a separator is formed. for example, 15 parts of vinyl chloride resin having the degree of chlorination of 68% is solved in 60 parts of tetrahydrofuran, and into said solution, 25 parts of isopropyl alcohol is added to form uniform solution, and to said solution, process-oil is added, and further 0.5 part of surface-active agent is added, and the product is adhered on polyester non-woven fabric, and volatile substance is removed, and then a separator is obtained. Thus, the amount of chlorine which is decomposed and liberated in high temperature is reduced, and a separator having high efficiency can be obtained at a low cost.
