Abstract

PURPOSE:For raising cooling efficiency, to rectify the flow of refrigerant flow by once supplying refrigerant from a storage container to the chamber sectioned by a damper plate. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive magnet 1 to be cooled is placed in the cryostat 2 thermally insulated by vacuum for example. Refrigerant liquid helium is stored in a storage container. A damper plate 10 is set to cover the bottom section 7 of said cryostat 2, and a plurality of refrigerant passages 11 and a transfer tube insert opening 12 are provided. Refrigerant liquid helium is passed through a transfer tube 5 from said storage container, and released through a refrigerant release port 6. Liquid helium evaporates while cooling said bottom section, flows out through a hole 11 to make slow, uniform cooling of said magnet 1 as indicated by arrow, and further flows out through a gas recovery port 9.
