Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a device to easily take out cold heat or hot heat, chemically and stably accumulated in metalic hydride or a system of metal and hydrogen, at need.
CONSTITUTION: The pressure container 2 is detachably installed to a heat insulated case 1. In this container 2, metalic hydride 3, of which balance pressure of decomposition is higher than the atmospheric pressure at a room temperature, is stored under pressure, together with hydrogen. Accordingly, when a valve 4 is opened to interconnect the inside of a container 2 to the open air, hydrogen is released from the container 2, the pressure of hydrogen in the container 2 is lowered than the balance pressure of decomposition of metalic hydride 3. As a result, the metalic hydride 3 releases hydrogen, heat-absorbingly, and cold heat can be obtained. On the other hand, warm heat can be obtained, by letting a metal 6, which can absorb hydrogen, heat-generatively, into a container 2, under the atmosphere of pressure reduced hydrogen, and by opening a valve 8 to introduce hydrogen into the container 2 from a cylinder 5.
