Abstract

CONSTITUTION: Water-soluble Ca compound such as Ca(OH)2, CaO, and CaCl2 is added to industrial waste water containing fluoride ions by 2W3 times equivalent of fluoride ions. At this time, the pH of the waste water should be adjusted to 6 or more by using acid or alkali. Fluoride ions in the waste water mostly precipitate and sediment as CaF2, which is removed by filtering. Next, a gas containing CO2, or a water-soluble carbonate such as CaCO3, K2CO3, (NH4)2CO3 is added to form sedimentation of CaCO3. At this time, the pH of waste water is adjusted to 8W11, and the removal rate of fluoride ions may be increased.
