Abstract

PURPOSE: To treat waste water in good efficiency by a method wherein a water soluble carbonate or the like is added to waste water from waste gas desulfurization treatment of which a pH is adjusted to 9.5 or more by adding an alkali agent to adjust a pH to 8 or more and, after solid-liqud separation is carried out, the treated water is incinerated.
CONSTITUTION: To waste water from waste gas desulfrization treatment, an alkali agent comprising an ammonium compound and/or a calcium compound is added to adjust a pH thereof to 9.5 or more and, thereby, a metal ion such as Mg, Ni, Fe or the like in the waste water is precipitated. Further, a water soluble carbonate or a carbon dioxide gas is added to the effluent water to adjust a pH thereof to 8 or more to precipitate Ca in said water as an insoluble precipitate and, thereafter, solid- liquid separation is carried out in a solid-liquid separation apparatus. Subsequently, the discharged treated water is introduced into an incinerating process and incinerated by heating the same to 400°C or more. As the ammonium compound, there is ammonium hydroxide or the like and, as the water soluble carbonate, there is ammonium carbonate or the like.
