Abstract

PURPOSE: To recover the sensible heat of incandescent coke, by contacting the hot coke with combustion exhaust gas cooled by a cooling device.
CONSTITUTION: A part of cooled and cleaned combustion gas generated from a coke calcining kiln 2 is extracted from the downstream of a dust collector 13, and introduced into the first coke cooler 21, in which the gas is contacted with incandescent coke. The sensible heat of the coke is transferred to the combustion gas, and the heated gas is mixed with hot combustion gas. The mixed gas is recycled and cooled with a combustion gas cooler 12 to recover the sensible heat of the gas. The coke cooled with the first coke cooler 21 is introduced into the second coke cooler 25, in which it is further cooled by the forced-contact with air. The air used for the cooling is introduced into the calcining kiln 2 or an incinerator 10 as calcining air or air for burning the flammable volatile gas.
