Abstract
PURPOSE:To recover and utilize both sensible heat and latent heat effectively by treating the exhaust gas having sensible heat and latent heat produced from a converter by making proper and effective use of a heat exchanger, a gas holder, etc. CONSTITUTION:The exhaust gas (K gas) of high temperatures and much CO content produced during the operation of a converter 1 is gathered in a flue 3 while the entry of air is being prevented with a skirt 2. The K gas of a low temperature having beforehand been recovered and stored is partly admitted in the upper hood 3-b part on its way to lower its temperature, thence the latent heat of the K gas is converted to steam in a heat exchanger 9 via a dry type dust collector 4. The K gas itself is cooled and is stored in a gas holder 7 through a wet type dust collector 6. At the time when the exhausting of the K gas is less on the way of the converter operation, the K gas having been stored in the gas holder 7 is supplied to the heat exchanger 5 through a by-pass 8, a blower 12 and a control valve 10-b and is mixed with the air supplied with a blower 9 and is thereby burned, so that the steam of always a fixed amount is generated from the heat exchanger 5 and is sent to a boiler etc.
