Abstract
PURPOSE:To make thin strip by spouting the molten metal of the Sendust alloy on the rotary roll, etc., and to improve the flexibility of the strip to a degree possible to be freely wound around the bar of diameter smaller than 10cm, by applying the specified heat treatment. CONSTITUTION:The Sendust alloy composed of 4-7% Al, 8-11% Si, and Fe as the balance, is inserted into the fused silica made tube 101. The alloy is molten by the high frequency induction heating furnace 102, and the molten alloy 106 being pressed by the pressure of Ar gas supplied from A, is spouted on the roll 103 rotating at high speed. The molten alloy is quenched extremely quickly by the roll and the thin strip 107 is formed. Hereupon, since the device is placed within the vacuum vessel 104, the oxide film is not generated on the surface of thin strip of the Sendust alloy. The thin strip is constituted of polycrystallines of crystal grain size smaller than 30mum, and is heat treated at 835 deg.C for 30 minutes, is necessay, if necessary. The magnetic characteristic is approximately similar to that of the conventional Sendust alloy, and the flexibility is excellent to a degree possible to be wound around the round bar of diameter 10cm.
