Abstract

PURPOSE: To efficiently work a sand settling pool according to the title method by calculating the amt. of sand settled in the pool with relatively high accuracy and by scraping the settled sand at the appropriate time.
CONSTITUTION: Signals detected with inflow water turbidimeter 4 and outflow water turbidimeter 7 are subtracted with adding and subtracting operator 10 to detect the ratio of suspended solid particles settled and separated in sand settling pool 2. This result and a signal of flow meter 8 are inputted into multiplying and dividing operator 11, where they are multiplied to calculate the amt. of solid particles settled and separated in pool 2. This value is integrated with preset counter 12, and when the integrated value reaches a prescribed value, counter 12 outputs instructions to start scraping of settled sand scraper control circuit 13, thus starting settled sand scraper 5.
