Abstract

PURPOSE: To make possible the flow measurement of an overflow weir without requiring any auxiliary level gauge by letting the difference between the overflow level of a fixed weir and the level which is calculated to convert to the level from the opening of a movable weir be the overflow level of the movable weir.
CONSTITUTION: A fixed weir 9 and movable weir 7 are provided to a diversion tank 2 and further a water level gauge 5 and an opening transmitter 8a which makes level conversion from the openings of the movable weir 7 are provided in order to measure the flow rates Q1, Q2 at which the water flowed into a pipe 1 overflows the respective weirs.
