Abstract
PURPOSE: To add a deoxidizer to molten rimmed steel in an amt. necessary for adequate foaming in ingot making by estimating the foaming vol. of the molten steel in an ingot in accordance with deviation between the calculated and actual molten steel levels to calculate the necessary amt.
CONSTITUTION: The amt. of molten steel poured in ingot case 1 from ladle 2 is measured with crane scale 3. The value is inputted in pouring amt. calculator 5 to calculate the molten steel level Rv in case 1. On the other hand, the actual molten steel level Pv in case 1 is measured with level 4, and the value is inputted in molten steel level calculator 6. The values of Rv and Pv are inputted in deviation calculator 7 to calculate deviation (h) between the values. This calculated value is inputted in deoxidizer calculator 8 to calculate the amt. of a deoxidizer required to provide an adequate foaming vol. to the molten steel in accordance with deviation (h). This calculated value is inputted in deoxidizer projector 9 to add the predetermined amt. of the deoxidizer to the molten steel in case 1.
