Abstract

PURPOSE:To make it possible to perform the remote measurement of a liquid level and a flow rate in a tightly sealed container, by providing an inner pipe at the inner surface of the container having a liquid surface, transmitting an ultrasonic wave to an overflow part, detecting a reflected wave, and measuring the reciprocating time of the ultrasonic wave. CONSTITUTION:An inner pipe 6 is provided in the inside of a container 1. Liquid 5 is inputted into the pipe through an inlet pipe 3. Then the liquid 5 overflows out of the inner pipe 6 and flows out through an outlet pipe 4. Under this state, an ultrasonic wave is transmitted to an upper liquid surface 7 from an ultrasonic wave tranceiver 9, which is provided at the lower surface of a cap 2 for tight sealing. A reflected wave from the liquid surface is detected. The reciprocating time is measured with a reflecting time measuring device 12. Since an ultrasonic wave propagating speed is known, a distance from the lower surface of the cap 2 to the liquid surface 7 is obtained. A height H of the overflow is obtained based on said distance. When the relationship between the height H and the flow rate is calibrated, the flow rate can be obtained at the same time as the liquid level.
