Abstract
PURPOSE: To greatly decrease the turbidity load due to oil in the waste water, by providing simple partition walls and an oil collecting tank having partition walls in a cooling water tank, and collecting and separating oil in the waste water in the cooling water tank within the cooling water tank.
CONSTITUTION: Multiple water-cooled jacket tubular molds 2 are arranged in the upper part in the central region in a cooling water tank 1, and regions 8 are provided in the four corners of the tank 1 by enclosing with partition walls 10 of which upper end is higher than the water level in the tank 1. In order to maintain the cooling condition for ingot constant, an overflow port 6 is provided in the tank 1. In order to prevent the oil from flowing out together with the overflow water, the water region around the port 6 is enclosed with partition wall 10, and the overflow water is caused to flow out from an opening 11 in the lower part. Oil 12 floating on the water surface in the tank 1 is caused to flow into an oil collecting tank 9 over the partition wall 13 due to slight fluctuations of the water level, and the oil in the separated upper layer is discharged out of the system.
