Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the entry of molten slag by disposing a box type intermediate vessel above a ladle and transferring the molten metal received in this vessel into the ladle by way of the specific feed trough.
CONSTITUTION: A molten metal feed trough 11 connected with a plurality of unit feed troughs 11aW11c is mounted by way of a connecting plate 10 to the discharge nozzle 9 of the intermediate vessel 5 placed on a stand 4 and is inserted into a ladle 1 in such a manner as to make contact with its inside wall 1b. When molten metal is poured into the molten metal receiving chamber 8 in the vessel, it runs through the downward channel 6a of an ingate plate 6 and enters a nozzle chamber 7. The floating molten slag is separated by the ingate plate. Further the molten slag in the moten metal flowing by passing through the feed trough 11 floats without flowing into the ladle and therefore it can be taken out from the molten slag discharge port 11d along with the rise in the liquid level in the ladle. Here, the molten metal in the ladle is of higher temperature at the bottom part and therefore there is no likelihood of clogging of the effluent nozzle 2.
