Abstract

PURPOSE: To effectively prevent the discontinuation of liquid supply to a reboiler feed system by providing a flow path through which tower bottom liquid as a product comes in when the level of liquid on the liquid supply side of the reboiler is lowered below a given level to the vertical baffle plate at the tower bottom.
CONSTITUTION: The vertical baffle plate 5 arranged at the bottom of the distilling tower 1 is provided with the flow path 15 through which a tower bottom liquid as a product comes in one the reboiler liquid supply side from the tower bottom liquid side when the liquid level on the reboiler liquid supply side is lowered below a given level, in which the flow path 15 is closed during the normal operation but serves to enable the bottom liquid to flow toward the reboiler liquid supply side when the overflow is reduced. Thus, the discontinuation of liquid supply in the reboiler feed system 9, caused when the amount of liquid coming down through the overflow pipe 2 is reduced, can be prevented for a long period of time.
