Abstract

PURPOSE: To increase the processing speed by carrying out simultaneously both the order to execute the return from the subroutine and the condition branching order executed outside the subroutine at the microprogram control type data processor.
CONSTITUTION: The microprograms read out from microprogram memory 1 and 2 are selected at microorder selection circuit 3 which is controlled by switch circuit 5 and then stored in order read-out register 4 for execution of the order. When the condition branching order is executed, order condition decision circuit 6 is actuated to control circuit 5 for selection of the next order. For the return from the subroutine, the address of the return address register 7 which is previously stored is used. Furthermore, the conditional branching is carried out through register 7 and based on the order to give simultaneous execution to both the return order from the subroutine and the condition branching order in order to enable the return from the subroutine.
