Abstract

PURPOSE: To speed up the instruction execution processing by transferring the instruction word read out from the memory storing the instruction word fetched in advance to the microprogram control section directly.
CONSTITUTION: For example, during the execution of the instruction 2, the instruction words 3 and 4 to be executed are read out as one word from the main memory and they are transferred via MBU25. The selector switch 24 selects those two instruction words 3 and 4 with section and transfers them to the instruction buffer IB26a. The instruction word 3 written in IB26a is read out in a suitable timing during the execution of the instruction 2 and transferred to the microprogram control section 21 via DBUS27. The control section 21 selects the address information 3-1 linked to the operation code of the instruction word 3 and stores it. When the microstep of the instruction 2 is finished for execution, since the micro instruction 3-1 at the head of the micro routine corresponding to the instruction word 3 to be executed next is executed, the instruction 3 can be executed without providing the microstep at non-operating condition.
