Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve the performance of exhaust process and to improve the achieved vacuum by supplying small amount of hydrogen into the lamp during the exhaust process then evaporating and exhausting the hydrogen gas.
CONSTITUTION: Small amount of hydrogen is supplied into the lamp during the exhaust process. Since the impurity gas in the lamp is simultaneously removed when exhausting said hydrogen gas, the degree of vacuum is increased abruptly to provide quite low pressure. After removing the hydrogen gas the filament is conducted. Glow discharge never occurs for first activation and the filament produces the heat normally to proceed the activation.
